Aint She Tempting wins blanket finish in Golden State Derby
Aint She Tempting won her first stakes since March 2020 in a three-horse photo in Sunday’s $197,700 Golden State Derby at Los Alamitos.
Ridden by Jose Nicasio, Aint She Tempting ($3.80) was always prominent through the 400 yards and won by a head over 2-1 Reason to Fly MV from the outside post. College Scandal (5-1) ran well from the inside post to finish third, a head behind Reason to Fly MV, who raced from post 5. The first three finishers all looked as if they could win in the final 100 yards.
Aint She Tempting was timed in 19.92 seconds. She overcame a slight bump with the longshot EG Domingo at the start, but recovered quickly to race within a neck of early leader College Scandal in the first 100 yards.
