OZONE PARK, N.Y. – Gezora, the 9-1 winner of the Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Turf at Del Mar for trainer Francis-Henri Graffard, will be transferred to Chad Brown and have a 4-year-old campaign stateside. Gezora is getting a 30-day break at Dell Ridge Farm in Lexington, Ky., before she joins Brown’s stable at Payson Park in Florida. Gezora is owned by Peter Brant, one of Brown’s main clients. “We’re so appreciative to have her coming to our barn. She came in in outstanding condition from the Graffard yard,” Brown said. “She’s getting 30 days at Dell Ridge before she rejoins our main stable at Payson.” Brown mentioned the Modesty Stakes at Churchill Downs in May as a potential early-season landing spot for Gezora. If she’s ready before then, Tampa Bay Downs has the Grade 2 Hillsborough Stakes in March. :: Access the most trusted data and information in horse racing! Meanwhile, Brown has a lot to look forward to in 2026 with Deep Learning, who was a two-length winner of Thursday’s Chelsey Flower Stakes at Aqueduct. It was her second win from four starts this year. It was Brown’s seventh victory in the Chelsey Flower, a race for 2-year-old fillies that has been run 14 times. Deep Learning, who looks like more distance will be her friend, could be a candidate for the trio of long-distance turf stakes for 3-year-old fillies that the New York Racing Association has each summer, beginning with the Belmont Oaks in July. Meanwhile, Rated by Merit, the unbeaten winner of the Discovery in his first start for Brown, worked a half-mile in 48.59 seconds over the Belmont Park training track Friday morning in preparation for a start in the Grade 2, $500,000 Cigar Mile on Dec. 6. :: Want to learn more about handicapping and wagering?
