Afleet Alex, 'Fog' Future Wager favorites

Afleet Alex and Lost in the Fog were slightly favored at 6-1 midway through the second of four days of wagering into Pool 2 of the Kentucky Derby Future Wager.

As of 5:30 p.m. Eastern on Friday, and with the handle standing at $86,450, Afleet Alex had drawn nearly $10,500 in the win-only future wager, about $650 more than Lost in the Fog. Next in line were Sun King (7-1), Rockport Harbor (8-1), the mutuel field (10-1), and Bandini (12-1). Real-time odds are available on kentuckyderby.com.

Pool 2 was reshaped substantially by the announcement early Friday that Declan's Moon has been declared from Derby contention. Declan's Moon drew $5,946 in Pool 2 wagers Thursday, but he was scratched before wagering reopened Friday.

In pool 2 of the Kentucky Oaks futures, Sweet Catomine was the 7-2 favorite, followed by Splendid Blended (7-1), the field (8-1), Sharp Lisa (9-1), and Letgomyecho (10-1). Handle was only $8,033.

The Derby futures close Sunday at 6 p.m. Eastern, and the Oaks futures close 30 minutes later.
