Adios Cole, Korrongo face winners in feature

A field of nine 3-year-olds competing under starter allowance conditions at 5 1/2 furlongs on the Tapeta will contest Friday’s modest $44,000 feature event. The lineup features a pair of impressive and relatively well-graded debut winners in Adios Cole and Korrongo.

Adios Cole contested a lively early pace before drawing off to a decisive 4 3/4-length victory debuting under a $35,000 claiming tag over the Tapeta course on April 5 for trainer Herman Wilensky. He earned an 83 Beyer Speed Figre for the effort.

Korrongo launched his career competing for the same price, overcoming a bit of a slow start from the rail before rallying to a one-length decision competing on the turf for trainer Antonio Sano.

Although obviously talented, both Adios Cole and Korrongo will give away valuable experience to several other key contenders in the highly competitive field, including Eastbostonbenny and Rezasrolex, both well-graded winners of their most recent outings, with each of those victories coming over the synthetic course.
