Adhrhythm successfully stretches out

Adhrhythm ($6.80) repelled a challenge from 2-5 favorite Unforgotten to capture Tuesday nights $75,000 Golden Sylvia Handicap at Mountaineer Racetrack.

A 4-year-old filly based at Churchill Downs with trainer Merrill Scherer, Adhrhythm was stretching out to a mile after three consecutive six-furlong sprints. Unforgotten, who beat Adhrhythm by almost 10 lengths the last time they met going 1 1/16 miles at Fair Grounds in January, rallied to get within a half-length of the lead with a furlong remaining in the Golden Sylvia. But jockey Ricardo Feliciano asked Adhrhythm for more and she drew clear to win by two lengths, completing the distance in 1:39.41.

It was another 13 1/4 lengths back to Fast and Fluid in third.

Adhrhythm has now won 6 of 20 starts and $507,235.
