Added Edge best in Razorback

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. - Jockey Luis Quinonez completed a sweep of the two weekend Grade 3 stakes races at Oaklawn Park on Sunday when he guided Added Edge to a half-length win in the $125,000 .
Quinonez on Saturday won the $175,000 Azeri Breeders' Cup aboard Injustice.
Added Edge ($7.40) broke well in the Razorback, and after being forced to steady in the first turn settled in fifth behind leaders Mauk Four and Gigawatt, who raced as a team through fractions of 23.19 seconds for the opening quarter and 46.78 seconds for the half-mile mark in the mile and a sixteenth race. Added Edge advanced between horses on the final turn, entered the stretch five wide, and put in a strong stretch bid to catch Mauk Four.
Added Edge covered the distance over a track rated fast in 1:43.88. Mauk Four held second, three-quarters of a length in front of third-place finisher Absent Friend. Purge, the even-money favorite, prompted the pace before finishing 10th.
Dale Romans trains Added Edge, who earned $75,000 for the win for Team Valor, Robert Wilson, Barry Irwin and Jeff Siegel. Overall, the horse has won 8 of 19 starts and $552,326. He shipped in from Gulfstream Park for the Razorback, which is a prep for the Grade 2, $500,000 Oaklawn Handicap on April 9.
