The Fasig-Tipton Kentucky fall yearling sale breezed past its midway point on Tuesday evening showing gains from last year's record renewal.   Through two days of this four-session sale at the Newtown Paddocks in Lexington, Fasig-Tipton reported that 529 yearlings had sold through the ring for gross receipts of $32,776,500. That does not include the 11 private sales that have taken place thus far in the first two days. Last year to this point, 532 horses had sold through the ring for gross receipts of $28,186,000. There were 28 private sales across all four sessions.   The average price for horses sold through the ring to this point of the sale is $61,959, up 17 percent from $52,981 at this midway point last year. The session median finished at $30,000 on Monday and $32,000 on Tuesday. Both are double-digit gains from $20,000 in the first two sessions last year.   The 2024 edition of Fasig October ultimately finished with sale records for gross and average and the fourth-best median in its history. :: Access the most trusted data and information in horse racing! After a $900,000 Curlin colt topped Monday's opening session, an Into Mischief colt and a Life Is Good colt each sold for $500,000 to lead Tuesday's action. Three horses have thus surpassed the $500,000 mark at only the midway point of this sale. Last year, four horses met the threshold during the entire auction.   The Life Is Good colt was the first to reach Tuesday's top price when he was purchased by OGMA Investments from the consignment of Hill 'n' Dale as agent. This is the first crop for the four-time Grade 1-winning stallion, a son of Into Mischief.   This colt is out of the Midshipman mare Shippy, a Grade 3-placed stakes winner. She is the dam of one winner from two starters to date. Grade 1 winner Wild Rush appears on the catalog page.   Three horses later came the Into Mischief colt, who matched the high-water mark when purchased by bloodstock agent Mahmud Mouni from the consignment of Blake-Albina Thoroughbred Services as agent.   The colt is out of the winning Yes It's True mare Shopit, whose five winners from six starters are led by Shoplifted, a full brother to this colt. He was a stakes winner and also multiple Grade 1-placed. This is the extended family of 2024 Preakness Stakes winner Seize the Grey.   For hip-by-hip results, click here.   :: Want to learn more about handicapping and wagering?
