OZONE PARK, N.Y. – Combined, Price Talk and Myhartblongstodady have crossed the wire first in their last seven starts. It’s a trend their trainer Jorge Abreu hopes continues Friday when the two compete in separate 1 1/16-mile turf stakes at Aqueduct. Price Talk, who has won his last two after being disqualified from first on opening day at Saratoga, makes his stakes debut in the $100,000 Gio Ponti for 3-year-olds. Myhartblongstodady, who has won four in a row – including all three starts she’s made for Abreu – steps into open company in the $100,000 Forever Together for fillies and mares 3-years-old and up. Price Talk, a gelding by Kitten’s Joy, was disqualified from first to fifth for a bumping incident in the stretch of his debut. He’s since come back to win a maiden race at Saratoga by three lengths and a first-level allowance by one length on Oct. 11 at Belmont. “Each time he gets better and I think he’s going to be a better 4-year-old because he gets more mature every time he runs,” Abreu said. “He comes out of there with a different attitude, like he wants to do it.” There was rain in the forecast Thursday, meaning the turf will likely be on the good to yielding side Friday. Abreu felt the turf was less than firm in at least one of Price Talk’s Saratoga starts. :: Click to learn about our DRF's Free Past Performance program. Trainer Ben Perkins Jr. ships up Reconvene from Maryland for the Gio Ponti. Reconvene won two straight races at Monmouth, then made huge late runs to finish third in the James W. Murphy Stakes on Oct. 3 at Pimlico and dead-heat for fifth, beaten just 1 1/4 lengths, in the Bryan Station on Nov. 6 at Keeneland. “In the Pimlico race he saved ground and tried to come through and he had to wait so long and Joey [Bravo] said ‘I had a ton of horse at the end of the race,’ ” Perkins said. “In Kentucky, he swung him wide and he ended up having to circle 13 horses and by the time he got level and running it was too late. “He has a tremendous late kick and in turf racing you know you need a little luck,” Perkins said. Chris DeCarlo rides Reconvene from the outside post in what was drawn as a 13-horse field. Ajourneytofreedom dead-heated for fifth with Reconvene and is back in this field. He is one of three entered in this spot by trainer Mike Maker. Bodecream, third, beaten just two lengths in the Grade 2 Hill Prince, and Me and Mr. C, second in a $50,000 claimer last out Belmont, are the others. The last time City Man raced on turf, he finished second to Venezuelan Hug, who last Saturday won the Sunshine Millions Turf Preview Stakes at Gulfstream Park West. This will be City Man’s first turf race with blinkers after finishing second in the Albany Stakes on dirt with that equipment on Sept. 4 at Saratoga. Vanzzy, winner of the Jersey Derby at Monmouth in July, Starting Over, fifth in the Hill Prince, Doc Boy, and Basquiat complete the field. Forever Together: ‘Dady’ seeks fifth straight Myhartblongstodady is coming off three front-running victories for Abreu, including stakes scores in the Yaddo at Saratoga and the Ticonderoga at Belmont. However, in her last start for trainer Chad Brown – 372 days ago – Myhartblongstodady rallied from 10th at Aqueduct to win a statebred first-level allowance. “I don’t think she really needs the lead,” Abreu said. “If somebody wants to go with her she could sit off.” This field appears to have plenty of depth leading with Tapit Today, who is coming off a solid victory in the Grade 3 Athenia on Oct. 25 at Belmont for Brown. Tapit Today, who has Jose Ortiz, will have to work out a trip from post 12. Feel Glorious, one of three entered by Christophe Clement, is 2 for 2 at Aqueduct. She was fourth, beaten 2 1/4 lengths by Tapit Today in the Athenia. “She came from off the pace and there was not much pace in the race,” Clement said. “She finished the race maybe a touch flatter than usual, and I don’t know why.” Sorrentina Lemon was second to Feel Glorious in the Winter Memories last December. She has only run twice this year, finishing second and then third in the second-level allowance condition, “She ran very well first time and was a touch flat the other day,” Clement said. No Mo Lady has had a solid 4-year-old campaign, including a troubled third-place finish in the Grade 3 Gallorette on Oct. 3 at Pimlico when, under Julian Pimentel, she got shut off in the stretch. “There was a lot of space and the other rider didn’t see him coming, next thing you know he just dropped over on her and he had to steady,” Trombetta said. “He said it really hurt him.”
