Abel Tasman is getting a month off. “I just want to freshen her up,” Baffert said. :: Get yourself a 20-card PPs pack today and save 60¢ per card! Abel Tasman is the likely champion of the 3-year-old filly division. Her major victories this year include the Kentucky Oaks, Acorn Stakes, and Coaching Club American Oaks. In addition to the Distaff, she was second in two other Grade 1 races, the Cotillion and Santa Anita Oaks. Mor Spirit has been sent to Kentucky to refresh. “I needed to kick him out on the farm for awhile, but he’ll come back,” Baffert said. “I think it’s mental with him.” The Dirt Mile was the only start for Mor Spirit since his powerful victory in the Met Mile.
