505 training center to go on block

Glenye Cain Oakford|Aug 09, 2002

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. - Marsha Naify will sell her 505 Farms training center near Lexington, Ky., at auction on Sept. 13.

Tom Biederman, head of Biederman Real Estate and Auctioneers in Lexington, announced the sale. "I think she felt it was just too difficult to manage the operation from her base in California," Biederman said.

Biederman will handle the sale of the 427-acre property developed by Naify's late father, Marshall Naify. The land will sell in three tracts of 167 acres, 150 acres, and 110 acres. The facilities include a recently renovated six-furlong training track, about 50 paddocks, and 136 stalls.

Naify and Biederman scheduled the auction to take place on the dark day that divides the two weeks of Keeneland's September yearling sale, Biederman said.
