$31K pick six carryover at Del Mar

DEL MAR, Calif. – There is a carryover of $31,078 in Friday’s $2 pick six at Del Mar.

The eight-race program begins at 2 p.m. Pacific.

The pick six begins with the third race, a maiden race for 2-year-old fillies at five furlongs on turf.

The remainder of the pick six races are an allowance race at six furlongs which drew a stakes-caliber field; a $12,500 claimer for statebred maiden fillies and mares at six furlongs; a $25,000 claimer for nonwinners of two at 1 1/16 miles on turf; the $150,000 Real Good Deal Stakes for statebred 3-year-olds at seven furlongs; and a maiden race for California-bred fillies and mares at a mile on turf.

Before scratches, the pick six races have fields of 9, 7, 12, 9, 11, and 11.

The pool of new money could surpass $200,000.

The carryover was clinched after Bessie Coleman ($24) won Thursday’s seventh race.
