229 cataloged to Fasig-Tipton Midlantic winter mixed sale

The catalog for the 2017 Fasig-Tipton Midlantic winter mixed sale is now available online. The number of horses cataloged increased 37 percent from the previous edition to 229.

The auction will take place Sunday, Jan. 29 at the Maryland State Fairgrounds in Timonium beginning at 11 a.m. Eastern. Supplemental entries will be accepted until sale time.

“Moving the sale date from December to late January produced very positive results in 2016, and as a result, consignors have supported us with increased numbers for 2017,” said Midlantic sales director Paget Bennett. “The catalog features significant quality, including a number of young stakes-credentialed broodmares and broodmare prospects, as well as several siblings to prominent 2016 graded stakes winners. A large group of short yearlings, which includes several eligible for a variety of lucrative statebred programs, should draw good interest as well.”

The sale opens with 105 cataloged broodmares, then moves on to an 84-horse short-yearling section, and concludes with a horses of racing age portion comprising 32 horses.

Print catalogs for the Midlantic sale will be available from all Fasig-Tipton offices by Jan. 4.
