2021 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies: Ain't Easy will undergo surgery on ankle

Barbara D. Livingston Ain't Easy, training last week at Del Mar, will be pointed to the Kentucky Oaks, said trainer Phil D'Amato.
DEL MAR, Calif. – Ain’t Easy on Monday was not entered in Friday’s Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies when she jogged unsatisfactorily for trainer Phil D’Amato, and she was subsequently discovered to have a small chip in her left front ankle and will undergo arthroscopic surgery, D’Amato said Tuesday morning at Del Mar.
Ain’t Easy has won both her starts, including the Grade 2 Chandelier last time out at Santa Anita.
“We’re on the road to the Kentucky Oaks now,” D’Amato said. “We should be able to get this cleared up and get her back to the races in time to get in a couple of preps for the Oaks.”
D’Amato said X-rays revealed the chip.
“It’s small, fresh, hasn’t been bouncing around there doing damage,” D’Amato said.
