$1.8M filly tops Inglis Easter sale

A filly who sold for about $1,880,000 took the spotlight this week in Australia when she topped the William Inglis & Son auction house's Easter select broodmare sale, which ended Monday in Sydney under a new format featuring two select days.

The sale topper, purchased by Kieran Moore Bloodstock, was Personify, a 4-year-old Galileo stakes winner who is out of the Jade Hunter mare Procrastinate. She is a half-sister to South African champion sprinter Laisserfaire and two other stakes winners. She was carrying a Redoute's Choice foal. Kulani Park consigned her on behalf of Paul Makin.

The Easter sale's two select sessions sold 394 horses for a total of about $43,645,610 and an average price of about $110,775. The median was approximately $56,400. The buy-back rate was 19 percent.
