Glenye Cain Oakford|Jul 08, 2003

LEXINGTON, Ky. - A $1.35 million Giant's Causeway colt bought by Fusao Sekiguchi topped the second and final session at the Japan Racing Horse Association's select foal sale Tuesday.

Sekiguchi also bought the auction's sale-topper, a $2,791,878 Sunday Silence-Seto Flowerian colt, on Monday.

Tuesday's session-topper was one of nine foals Sekiguchi bought at the two-day auction. Sekiguchi is best known in the United States as the man who campaigned 2000 Kentucky Derby winner Fusaichi Pegasus.

The sale grossed $59,840,948 for 211 foals sold. The auction's average price was $283,606, and the median was $177,665.
