Led by a $1.3 million filly by Bolt d’Oro, robust trade continued at the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Co.’s spring sale of 2-year-olds in training on Thursday. OBS reported 143 juveniles sold for gross receipts of $26,036,000 in this third of four sessions overall. In the third session last year, $21,505,000 was generated by 148 head sold. The session’s average was $182,070, a 25 percent year-to-year, session-to-session gain from $145,304 in the third session of the 2025 sale. The median improved 5 percent, to $80,000 from $76,000. The buyback rate for the session was 21 percent, compared to 20 percent. The session-topping Bolt d’Oro filly was purchased by Bill Childs from the consignment of Kings Equine, as agent. The filly, who breezed a furlong in 9 4/5 seconds during last week’s under-tack preview show on the Ocala Training Center’s all-weather Safetrack, will be trained by Danny Gargan. “We thought she was the best filly in this sale, and we just had to wait,” Gargan told OBS. “I thought her breeze was tremendous, and she’s a very, very good-looking individual. We were lucky enough we were able to buy her. I’m excited she’ll be coming to me in Saratoga.” The filly is out of the Into Mischief mare Gas Station Sushi, winner of the Grade 3 Beaumont Stakes. She is the dam of two winners from four starters. For hip-by-hip results, click here. :: Want to learn more about handicapping and wagering? Check out DRF's Handicapping 101 and Wagering 101 pages.
