13-horse field in Gulfstream Park Oaks

HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. – With Davona Dale Stakes winner Fly So High sidelined by injury and the talented Monomoy Girl heading to the Grade 1 Ashland at Keeneland on April 7, Saturday’s Grade 2, $300,000 Gulfstream Park Oaks drew a bulky field of 13 3-year-old fillies.
The race drew the top three finishers from the Suncoast Stakes at Tampa Bay Downs – C. S. Incharge, Daisy, and Mihrab – as well as Davona Dale runner-up Take Charge Paula.
Daisy, last year’s Grade 3 Tempted winner at Aqueduct, was beaten three-quarters of a length in the Suncoast. She will be equipped with blinkers for the first time, according to trainer John Servis.
“She’s trained good in them,” Servis said. “We’ll see if she’s good enough. That’s the big question.”
Mihrab, beaten two lengths in the Suncoast, will also get blinkers for the first time, according to trainer Graham Motion.
The field includes a trio of runners from Ron Paolucci’s Loooch Racing – Eighty Thirty One, Heavenhasmynikki, and the maiden Tell Your Mama. Dale Romans trains C. S. Incharge and also entered Coach Rocks. Also entered were Alter Moon, Blonde Bomber, Cache, Princess Warrior, and Silver Bay.
