124 sold in Texas

Mary Rampellini|Dec 11, 2006

A weanling filly by More Than Ready topped the Fasig-Tipton Texas winter mixed sale at Lone Star Park on Sunday, when she brought a bid of $40,000 from C.C.S. Bloodstock.

The sale topper is out of the unraced Editor's Note mare Social Editor, and was consigned by Roger Daly, agent for Ed Few.

In all, 124 horses sold during the one-day auction of broodmares, yearlings, weanlings, and horses of racing age, for an average of $4,365. Thirty-seven horses did not sell.

The top-selling broodmare was Honey Gold, a daughter of Touch Gold who brought $35,000 from Jeanne and Dana Bruce. She was consigned by Lane's End Texas and is believed to be in foal to top Texas stallion Valid Expectations.
