$101 winner sparks $135K carryover

DEL MAR, Calif. - The upset win by Lucky Mite ($101.20) in Fridays third race has led to a pick six carryover of $135,143 for Saturdays 10-race program at Del Mar.

The pick six covers the fifth through 10th races on a program that begins at 2 p.m.

The pick six races include a maiden claimer for sprinters in the fourth, the $300,000 San Diego Handicap for older horses at 1 1/16 miles, a $40,000 claimer at 1 1/16 miles on turf, a $25,000 claimer at 1 1/16 miles, the Osunitas Handicap at 1 1/16 miles on turf, and a maiden claimer at six furlongs on the main track in the final race.

The only scratch in those races as of Friday morning was Itschelseagirl in the seventh race. Martin Garcia will replace Pedro Arambula on Wantha in the fifth race.

Alonso Quinonez will ride Silent Smoke in the 10th race.
