Big Red Mike looks for second leg of Canadian Triple Crown

FORT ERIE, Ontario – Big Red Mike, a front-running winner of Woodbine’s Queen’s Plate on July 4, will be looking to add the second jewel in the Canadian Triple Crown to his portfolio here in Sunday’s Prince of Wales Stakes.

The $500,000 Prince of Wales, a 1 3/16-mile race for Canadian-bred 3-year-olds that is the showpiece of the Fort Erie meeting, attracted eight entrants and is scheduled to go postward at 5 p.m. Eastern.

Sunday’s 10-race program also includes a pair of $50,000 turf sprints, the Daryl Wells Sr. Memorial and the Ernie Samuel Memorial.
