ELMONT, N.Y. – Formidable switches back to the turf for Hall of Famer trainer Allen Jerkens in the Grade 3, $200,000 Jaipur Stakes on Saturday at Belmont Park. The six-furlong Jaipur is the final stakes of the meet that concludes Sunday.
Most recently, Formidable ran fourth to Bribon in Belmont’s Grade 2 True North Handicap. The prior two races were his first attempts on grass, and the two five-furlong efforts were encouraging. Formidable took a money-allowance at Gulfstream before rallying to miss by one length in the Grade 3 Turf Sprint Stakes at Churchill Downs.
