How to bet Saturday's Delta Downs $100K guaranteed Pick 4

Email

Here's my race-by-race rundown of Saturday's Guaranteed $100K Pick 4 at Delta Downs. I'm building my wager with TicketMaker, found exclusively on DRF.com.

Race 4: Louisiana Legacy Stakes $150,000

TOP CAT BOOGIE (#8) endured a tough trip in his local debut but he can improve greatly here with a better set-up. ZIP MOTION (#6), FREDDIE ONE BITE (#7) and NOBLE ALEX (#9) provide insurance, and I'd use more in here given a little bankroll flexibility given a key scratch somewhere else in the sequence, as this is the one race of the four where I feel most exposed.

Race 5: Delta Mile $125,000

I really like the works on AND MUSIC CAME (#1), enough to put him on par with HOORAYFORHOLLYWOOD (#4) and GLENWOOD CANYON (#6), even though those rivals have better figures.

Race 6: Delta Princess Grade 3 $500,000

DEVIOUS INTENT (#9) chased CITIZEN ADVOCATE (#7) when they last met but the latter had a pace advantage that he she will not have today, as a quick pace does seem very likely in the Delta Downs Princess. NOW I KNOW (#2), in fact, is the filly to catch, and though she's never been this far she could conceivably steal it if unpressured early. CANDREA (#5) is the favorite but will be tested here, as she may or may not be able to rate and make one run at this distance.

Race 7: Delta Downs Jackpot Grade 3 $1 million

MY ADONIS (#5) and SABERCAT (#8) were a half-length apart in a Monmouth maiden race back on Labor Day, and they've come back to win three stakes between the two of them since. They're not easy to separate, so I'll use them equally. DRILL (#6) is the main fear, coming out of the Breeders' Cup, and warrants a strong presence on the ticket. LONGVIEW DRIVE (#1) hasn't done much wrong in four starts, and may be good enough, though he's not as likely as the top three contenders.

My wagers

With TicketMaker I'm able to put greater emphasis on my "A" selections while still having coverage with my "B" and "C" picks just in case. This allows me to maximize my budget for this Pick 4.
