ARCADIA, Calif. – Ocho Ocho Ocho, the winner of the $1 million Delta Jackpot Stakes in Louisiana last November but eighth in the Grade 2 San Felipe Stakes on March 7, is likely to run in the $1 million Blue Grass Stakes at Keeneland on April 4.
Trainer Jim Cassidy said on Wednesday that he is “probably leaning toward Keeneland” as opposed to a start in the $1 million Santa Anita Derby the same day. The Blue Grass Stakes and Santa Anita Derby are run at 1 1/8 miles and are key preps for Triple Crown races.
NEW ORLEANS – He’s won on dirt, synthetic, and turf, won going short and going long, owns wins at Belmont Park and Woodbine, and trains at Gulfstream Park. But it is here at Fair Grounds where International Star has done his best work on a résumé that deserves far more praise than it has garnered.

We are five weeks away from the Kentucky Derby, and I admit to feeling confused. You ever look at a race over and over until all the horses start to look the same? You eventually get a headache and finally just move on to the next race. I am just about there with this Derby.
Dubai Sky, the winner of last Saturday’s Spiral Stakes at Turfway Park in northern Kentucky, was one of nine horses nominated to the Triple Crown at the last deadline Monday night, according to Churchill Downs, the home of the Kentucky Derby.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Bob Baffert-trained duo of American Pharoah and Dortmund are the top morning-line choices in the fourth and final pool in the 2015 Kentucky Derby Future Wager, which opens Friday at noon Eastern for a three-day run.
Churchill Downs linemaker Mike Battaglia has listed American Pharoah as the 9-2 choice in Pool 4 over Dortmund (5-1), with Carpe Diem next at 6-1. Next at 8-1 is the field, the 24th or “all others” entry, followed by Firing Line (12-1) and three horses at 15-1.
El Kabeir has not only survived, but according to his connections thrived this winter in New York. When I saw him on the track Sunday at Belmont, he looked like he put on some weight since the Gotham, a fact confirmed by assistant trainer Tonja Terranova. He will get a chance to avenge his loss to Far From Over in the Withers when those two meet in the Wood Memorial. Daredevil, a stablemate of Far From Over, also was confirmed for the Wood by his connections over the weekend as well as Remsen and Holy Bull runner-up Frosted.
