Theater R.N. wins Las Palmas Handicap

ARCADIA, Calif. - Theater R.N. won her stakes debut in Sunday's $150,000 , rallying from fifth in the final three furlongs to catch stablemate Lots of Hope in the final 30 yards.

The win gave trainer Bobby Frankel a 1-2 finish in the Grade 2 Las Palmas and a sweep of the weekend stakes at Santa Anita. Frankel won Saturday's Morvich Handicap with Leroidesanimaux.

Millfleet best in Bunty Lawless

Millfleet wins the Bunty Lawless at Woodbine on Sunday.

ETOBICOKE, Ontario - Millfleet ($10.50) notched his second Woodbine stakes in 11 days in Sunday's $146,750 , a one-mile turf event for Ontario-sired runners.

With apprentice Jill Scharfstein aboard, Millfleet raced three-wide on the lead in unison with Bold Kris and Crease Infraction. Millfleet took control after fractions of :23.21 and :46.56 seconds, and held off favored Tusayan in deep stretch to prevail by three-quarters of a length.

Sir Cherokee best in Ack Ack Handicap

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Sir Cherokee, winless since taking the Maxxam Gold Cup in January at Sam Houston, regained top form in beating odds-on favorite Fire Slam by 5.25 lengths in the opening-day Grade 3, $163,500 at Churchill Downs Sunday.

Racing for the first time since undergoing surgery this summer to remove bone chips in both front ankles, Sir Cherokee ran like a horse rebuilt, rallying five-wide from last and powering past the opposition. The winner, a 4-year-old son of Cherokee Run owned and bred by Domino Stud, raced 7.5 furlongs in 1:29.48, paying $14.80.

Leroidesanimaux extends streak

ARCADIA, Calif. - Leroidesanimaux extended his winning streak to 4 in Saturday's $100,000 at Santa Anita, a victory that confirmed his status as a turf miler to follow in California.

Ridden by Jon Court, Leroidesanimaux ran about 6 1/2 furlongs on the hillside turf course in a quick 1:11.76. He finished 1 1/4 lengths in front of pacesetter De Valmont. Cayoke, the 8-5 favorite, finished third in the field of six.

My Misty Princess captures Bluebonnet Stakes

GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas - My Misty Princess, who was disqualified from a stakes win earlier this meet for veering into another rival, edged that horse, Queena Corrina, by a nose to win the $100,000 at Lone Star Park on Sunday.

It was another three-quarters of a length back in third to 54-1 shot Bonnie J., while Janeian, the even-money favorite, finished fourth in the race which highlighted the closing day program.

Beau's Town wins Total Rewards Stakes

BOSSIER CITY, La. - David Hulkewicz's Beau's Town, a graded winner on dirt, made a successful transition to the turf on Sunday, winning the closing day featured $40,000 Total Rewards Stakes. G. W.'s Deputy rallied to finish second, two and a quarter lengths back followed by Aloha Bold.

Our Love takes Majorette Handicap

BOSSIER CITY, La. - Our Love made her stakes debut a winning one Saturday afternoon, prevailing after dueling with runner up Countryfide throughout in the $40,000 Majorette Handicap. Comalagold reported home a distant third followed by highweight Gilded Wings.

Trained by Jeff Trosclair for Alane, Inc., Our Love ($15.80) was ridden by John Jacinto and covered the about five furlongs over the turf in :56.05. The win was her third from seven starts and she has now earned just over $65,000.

Royal Regalia wins Texas Turf

GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas - About a half-hour after his Ghostzapper won the $4 million Breeders' Cup Classic at Lone Star Park on Saturday, Frank Stronach watched his other starter on the card, Royal Regalia, win the $100,000 Texas Turf Stakes in what was a consolation prize for the horse who did not get the one defection he needed to draw into the $1.5 million Mile.

The Texas Turf was one of three stakes on the Breeders' Cup undercard, and each was worth $100,000.
