Pimlico: Tam's Terms tries again

Tam's Terms, who failed as the even-money favorite coming off a five-month layoff in last year's Henry S. Clark Stakes, returns under similar circumstances in this year's running of the $50,000 turf stakes at Pimlico.

The 7-year-old Tam's Terms finished third, beaten 11 1/2 lengths, when he made his season debut in the 2004 Clark. He now makes his first start since November.

In his favor, Tam's Terms is 3 for 4 over Pimlico's turf course and was good enough to finish second in last fall's Grade 3 Cliffhanger at The Meadowlands.

The first showdown between Shake You Down and Danieltown came in a five-furlong prep for the Panhandle on April 22, and it actually turned out to be no contest. Danieltown, the 3-5 favorite, hopped and swerved at the start, causing jockey Chad Murphy to fall off.

Pass Rush classy but rusty

Benoit & Associates
Pass Rush, a Grade 2 winner in 2003, faces Indiana-breds for only the second time Saturday.

Graded stakes winner Pass Rush returns from a year layoff to face eight Indiana-breds in Saturday's $40,000 William Henry Harrison at Indiana Downs.

Pass Rush has been transferred from trainer Pat Byrne to David Vance's barn since his last start, which came against allowance company at Churchill Downs on May 4, 2004. Despite the fact the 6-year-old Pass Rush is winless since capturing the Grade 2 San Fernando Stakes at Santa Anita in January 2003, he is strictly the one to beat.

Dance Away Capote, Aspen Tree out of Oaks

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The field for the 131st was reduced to seven when Dance Away Capote and Aspen Tree were scratched Thursday morning at Churchill Downs.

The scratch of Aspen Tree was not unexpected, considering she also was cross-entered as one of the favorites Thursday in the La Troienne Stakes. But the scratch of Dance Away Capote was surprising and disappointing to Graham Motion, who said the late-running filly was diagnosed with a 103-degree temperature soon after he came to work early Thursday.
