A Bit O Gold takes Sky Classic Handicap

A Bit O Gold wins the $329,300 Sky Classic Handicap at Woodbine Sunday.

ETOBICOKE, Ontario - A Bit O Gold ($5.20) overtook even-money favorite Revved Up in deep stretch to capture the $329,300 Sky Classic Handicap at Woodbine Sunday.

Jockey Jono Jones had A Bit O'Gold saving ground in a stalking position on the backstretch of the mile and three-eighth turf event, as Demeteor set slow fractions, while being pressed by Revved Up and Colorful Judgement.

Revved Up took control at the top of the stretch, but A Bit O'Gold wore him down after angling wide on the far turn, and prevailed by a neck. The final time was 2:17.17 seconds.

Funfair gives Motion another BC starter

ELMONT, N.Y. - Trainer Graham Motion will now be represented in all three grass races on Breeders' Cup Day.

Motion, who is bringing defending Breeders' Cup Turf winner Better Talk Now and Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Turf runner-up Film Maker back for those races, will now saddle Funfair in the BC Mile here on Oct. 29.

ELMONT, N.Y. - Sensation presented her connections with an interesting decision regarding the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies by rolling to a 5 1/2-length victory in Sunday's Grade 3, $108,400 at Belmont Park.

Swap Fliparoo rallied to get second by five lengths over Unobstructed View. Saoirse Cat, Fast Deal and Sleeping completed the order of finish.

ANDERSON, IND. - Don't Get Mad unleashed a strong run into the stretch to score his biggest career victory Saturday night with a 3 length win over favored Scrappy T in the Grade 2, $511,300 before a crowd of nearly 7,000 at Hoosier Park

Ridden by Brice Blanc, Don't Get Mad settled outside off the early pace contested by Thor's Echo and Southern Africa. Scrappy T, running extremely fresh off more than a four month layoff, ran up the heels of the two leaders leaving the first turn and checked off heels then was kept under a snug hold heading up the backstretch.

Lost in the Fog extends his winning streak to 10 with a 7 3/4-length victory in the $100,000 Bay Meadows Speed Handicap on Saturday.

SAN MATEO, Calif. - Unbeaten Lost in the Fog ($2.10) extended his winning streak to 10 as he tuned up for the Breeders' Cup Sprint with an easy 7 3/4-length victory in the $100,000 on Saturday.

Lost in the Fog's first meeting against older horses proved no different than his races against 3-year-olds.

He broke sharply from rail, established an open lead in the opening quarter and extended the margin from there, winning in 1:08.05 in what was little more than a workout.

ARCADIA, Calif. - Megahertz is bound for the Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Turf at Belmont Park on Oct. 29 in the best form of her career.

Saturday, Megahertz won her fourth stakes of 2005 in the $500,000 at Oak Tree at Santa Anita. Ridden by Alex Solis, Megahertz ($3) finished 1 1-4 miles on turf in 2:00.50, rallying from last in the final quarter-mile to win by a measured length.

"It was just a matter of making that final move," Solis said.

ELMONT, N.Y. - Trainer Beau Greely shipped Borrego from California to New York because he thought the late-running horse would appreciate Belmont's long stretch. Little could Greely have imagined that Borrego would have already taken control of the $1 million well before he turned for home.

Borrego stamped himself as a leading contender for the $4 million Breeders' Cup Classic here on Oct. 29 by rolling to a 4 1/2-length victory in the Jockey Club Gold Cup. His margin could have been greater, but jockey Garrett Gomez geared Borrego down for the final furlong.

Riskaverse grabs a repeat in Flower Bowl

ELMONT, N.Y. - Never underestimate Riskaverse in the Grade 1, $750,000 . The 6-year-old scored a repeat victory Saturday in the 1 1/4-mile race for fillies and mares on turf.

Riskaverse, ridden by Jose Santos, found running room in deep stretch to beat Wonder Again by a head with Film Maker third.

Riskaverse is the only back-to-back winner in the 28 runnings of the race.

Few fancied her chances for the repeat win, as Riskaverse paid $73.50. She covered the distance in 2:00.27 on firm ground.

Entry one-two in 'Cap

SAN MATEO, Calif. - Adreamisborn ($3.40) nipped his front-running entrymate Shadow Raider in the final stride to win the Grade 3, $121,250 by a nose on Saturday at Bay Meadows.

Shadow Raider raced on an uncontested lead in the about 1 1/8-mile turf race, while Adreamisborn sat comfortably in last place. Shadow Raider shook off a minor early threat from El Don and cruised through comfortable fractions of 23.65 seconds, 48.51, and 1:12.41.

Knights Templar wins the Mazarine Breeders' Cup by 13 1/4 lengths at Woodbine on Saturday.

ETOBICOKE, Ontario - Knights Templar ($10.10) led throughout the $270,400 , taking the Grade 3 stakes for 2-year-old fillies by 13 1/4 lengths at Woodbine Saturday.

Knights Templar set fractions of 23.59 and 47.26 seconds, before opening up a five-length lead midway on the far turn of the mile and a sixteenth route. She drew off in the stretch, winning in a quick final time of 1:43.15.
