After being the exclusive trainer for Stronach Stable here for the past three years, Lynch will continue to be a member of Team Stronach but also will be taking on outside clients.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. - Who knows? Wayne Catalano may wind up as leading trainer at Arlington this year, just like he has the last four seasons, and seven out of the last nine years. And Frank Calabrese could easily continue his four-year run as Arlington's leading owner. It's just that Catalano and Calabrese won't be working on the same team this year.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Only races the magnitude of the Kentucky Derby and Kentucky Oaks could prevent the undefeated champion Zenyatta from being the center of attention when she makes her much-anticipated 2009 debut in the $350,000 Louisville, the highlight of the undercard on Friday's Oaks Day program at Churchill Downs.
The Grade 2 Louisville is one of five supporting stakes on a 12-race card which begins at 10:30 a.m. Eastern.
GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas - Back in 2005, there was some question as to whether a 3-year-old Jonesboro would ever race again after he fractured a cannon bone while winning the first stakes of his career, the $75,000 Northern Spur at Oaklawn Park. Fast-forward to Saturday and the horse, now 7, thrilled his connections by becoming a millionaire with a hard-fought, half-length win in the Grade 3, $300,000 Texas Mile at Lone Star Park.
NORTH RANDALL, Ohio - The 122-day Thistledown meet begins Thursday and director of racing Bill Couch is confident that field size will be solid this meet. Couch said he received 1,573 stall applications, the most in years, for the 1,265 stalls he has available.
"I had to reduce the number of stalls of some of the bigger outfits because I lost the use of four barns this winter," Couch said of several older barns that have been taken out of service.
INGLEWOOD, Calif. - Five weeks after winning a Grade 2 at 1 1/8 miles on turf, Belmont Cat cuts back to a mile Saturday in the Grade 3 Wilshire Handicap at Hollywood Park. No problem, according to trainer John Sadler.
"I'm shortening her in distance, but she won here at a mile and she can be 'punchy' at a mile," Sadler said.
In fact, there is not much Belmont Cat cannot do. The New Zealand import has won a distances ranging from six furlongs to 1 1/4 miles, winning 4 of 10 overall and 2 of 3 in the U.S., including a head victory in the Santa Ana last out at Santa Anita.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The ambitious schedule that trainer Bob Baffert mapped out for two-time champion Indian Blessing was abandoned on Tuesday, when Baffert decided not to run Indian Blessing in the Grade 1, $300,000 Humana Distaff on Saturday at Churchill Downs.
INGLEWOOD, Calif. - A severe horse shortage in California has forced the hand of Hollywood Park, which cancelled live racing Thursday due to insufficient entries. Despite postponing the draw by two days, it became clear late Tuesday morning there were not enough horses to make the Thursday card go.
Hollywood vice-president Eual Wyatt Jr. stated it simply. "The factors are that we could not fill a representative card; we didn't have a choice," he said.
