In the Cradle for 2-year-old colts and geldings, Von Hemel has The Boot and Launch Light. The Boot won his maiden locally on Aug. 17 by a half-length. Launch Light journeyed up to Canterbury Park for the Brian Barenscheer Juvenile on Aug. 9 and ran well when second, beaten a head. Unfortunately, he was disqualified for interference at the top of the stretch and placed seventh.
DEL MAR, Calif. - Del Mar has a two-day pick six carryover of $777,352 for Thursday's eight-race program after a string of upsets occurred on Wednesday.
Wins by Skyrush ($25.20) and Saint Chocolate ($32) in the final two races on Wednesday secured the carryover.
Thursday's eight-race program begins at 2 p.m. Pacific, with the pick six beginning with the third race at approximately 3:02 p.m.
The pick six sequence features three main-track sprints, two routes on turf, and a 1 1/16-mile claiming race.

Now, with Saturday's $1 million Travers Stakes fast approaching, Quality Road is once again striking fear into the hearts of his opponents.
Despite having run just one 6 1/2-furlong race in five months, Quality Road enters the 140th Travers Stakes, run at 1 1/4 miles, as perhaps the horse to beat and the probable favorite in a likely eight-horse field.
DEL MAR, Calif. - Skyrush, an Argentine import making his U.S. debut, pulled an upset in Wednesday's $89,930 Harry F. Brubaker Stakes at Del Mar. Tiago, third in the 2008 Breeders' Cup Classic, finished last of six in his first start since February.
Skyrush ($25.20) ran 1 1/16 miles on turf in 1:40.77 under jockey Martin Pedroza. Skyrush rallied from fifth in the final quarter-mile to win by a neck over 13-1 Racketeer. Tiz West finished third.
AUBURN, Wash. - Emerald Downs has weathered the economic downturn reasonably well, track president Ron Crockett said Wednesday, with betting handle on Emerald races through the first 71 racing days declining 2.5 percent from the corresponding period in 2008.
Betting on out-of-state races from Emerald and in-state satellite facilities was off 16.4 percent from a year ago, however, contributing to an overall wagering decline of 7.8 percent, Crockett said.
Vince Gabbert has been named executive assistant to track president Nick Nicholson at the Keeneland Association in Lexington, Ky.
Gabbert, 33, resigned as deputy chief of staff to Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear to accept the job, which will entail a broad range of administrative and operational responsibilities. Gabbert will leave his government job on October 1.
