OCEANPORT, N.J. - Get Serious won a third straight stakes at Monmouth Park, holding off Pleasant Strike by a neck Sunday in the

A 5-year-old New York-bred gelding trained by John Forbes, Get Serious started the stakes streak in the Battlefield on July 11 and secured another win in the off-the-turf Oceanport on the Haskell Day undercard.

In all three races, Get Serious scored a front-running victory with Pablo Fragoso aboard.

Third Dawn earns shot at big time

DEL MAR, Calif. - Third Dawn earned a one-month vacation for recording her first stakes win in Sunday's $100,000 Torrey Pines Stakes at Del Mar.

Trainer John Sadler said Third Dawn will be rested until October, and then brought back into training with the goal of having her ready for the Grade 1 La Brea Stakes at Santa Anita in late December. The La Brea, run over seven furlongs, is the first of three stakes for 4-year-old fillies of 2010 that ends with the La Canada Stakes over 1 1/8 miles in early February.

Deltalicious, who handed Happyfromthegitgo her only career defeat in the Louisiana Cup Juvenile Filly Stakes over a sloppy track at Louisiana Downs last month, finished three lengths back in second, followed by Time Due and Send Rose.

The widest post in a field of 11 did not deter Takin' the Bullet in the $150,000 A.L. "Red" Erwin on Saturday at Louisiana Downs. Mi Sueno battles to Debutante victory

DEL MAR, Calif. - Mi Sueno will go to Santa Anita this fall as the leading 2-year-old filly in California after her gutty win in Saturday's $300,000 Darley Debutante.

Pyro fires late to win Forego

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. Pyro capped a magnificent meet for Sheikh Mohammed's Godolphin Stable by rallying from next-to-last in a 12-horse field to win Saturday's by a half-length over Kodiak Kowboy. It was another half-length back to Ready's Echo in third.

The win was the eighth from 14 starters at the meet for Godolphin, including four Grade 1 victories. Godolphin's other Grade 1 wins came in the Test with Flashing, the Ballerina with Music Note, and the Go for Wand with Seventh Street,

Tribal Belle wires Seaway

ETOBICOKE, Ontario - Tribal Belle led throughout Saturday's at Woodbine, under a clever ride from Jim McAleney.

McAleney guided Tribal Belle well off the dead rail after breaking from post 1, and they set slow fractions in the seven-furlong sprint for fillies and mares. Verdana Bold came inside the leader at the quarter pole, but Tribal Belle put that one away early in the stretch and then held off favored Simply Splendid to win by a neck, in a time of 1:22.44.

Exotic Bloom finished another four lengths back in third in the eight-horse field. Amazing was scratched.
