Parx: Royal Currier wins in track-record time

BENSALEM, Pa. - The last time Royal Currier started in a dirt race at Parx Racing, he ran six furlongs in 1:07.62 and was in front by two lengths. The problem that day was the Philmont Stakes was seven furlongs. Royal Currier weakened in the final furlong and was beaten one-half length by Little Drama.

Kentucky Cup: Future Prospect upsets in WinStar

FLORENCE, Ky. -  On a day when favorites mostly ruled the day, Future Prospect proved a stunning winner of Saturday's Grade 2, $200,000 WinStar Kentucky Cup at Turfway Park as the longest priced horse in the race at 18-1.

Although largely ignored by the betting public after competing in allowances and even one claiming race this year, Future Prospect proved he belonged in major stakes company.

MIAMI -  Trainer Padarath Lutchman had the choice of running My Pal Chrisy in either the $75,000 Stage Door Betty or the $55,000 Dolly Jo Stakes on Saturday at Calder, having cross entered his 3-year-old filly in both races. And in the end, Lutchman made the right choice.

Lutchman opted to keep My Pal Chrisy in the Stage Door Betty and was rewarded when the former claimer rallied from last under jockey Luca Panici to register a half-length victory over Successful Song in the 1 1/16-mile race.
