Ridden by Adam Kirby, he rallied late at 8-1 to defeat the pacesetting Tazeez, getting the 1 1/4 miles on good to firm ground in 2:05.73. It was another 1 3/4 lengths back to the 13-8 favorite Glass Harmonium.

Daryakana suffered the first defeat of her career Monday at Saint-Cloud when Plumania beat her into third place in the Group 2, $160,000 Prix Corrida. The Andre Fabre-trained winner rallied from fourth to lead at the sixteenth pole for a 1 1/2-length victory over Celimene as Daryakana just missed catching the runner-up by a short head. The time for the 1 5/16 miles on good ground was 2:13.60.

Goldikova returned to the races in triumph at Longchamp on Sunday with an authoritative victory in the Group 1, $312,000, Prix d'Ispahan. The two-time Breeders' Cup Mile winner had no problems with the odd distance of 1 1/8 miles, 55 yards as she cruised to victory under a perfectly timed ride from Olivier Peslier.
Canford Cliffs missed the break but took advantage of a blistering pace set by one of Aidan O'Brien's six runners to win the $406,000 Irish 2000 Guineas in last-to-first fashion at the Curragh on Saturday. The victory by Canford Cliffs, a son of Tagula, gave trainer Richard Hannon and his ultra-cool rider Richard Hughes their first triumph in the one-mile classic.
