Ridden by Danny Nikolic, Mosheen, a 4-1 chance, finished three lengths clear of 16-1 Strike the Stars. Mosheen broke from the outside in the field of 16, and led for the final quarter-mile.
Do It All, winner of an optional claimer at Del Mar last summer, led throughout Thursday’s $250,000 Zabeel Mile at Meydan Racecourse in the United Arab Emirates.
Do It All was listed as a 33-1 outsider with British bookmakers.
Formerly trained by Eoin Harty and now trained by Saeed bin Suroor, Do It All took the lead at the start of the turf race and won by 1 1/4 lengths over Derbaas. Silvestre de Sousa rode Do It All, a 5-year-old Kentucky-bred horse by Distorted Humor.
Samaready, an Australian-bred 2-year-old filly by More Than Ready, remained unbeaten after three starts with a three-length win in Saturday’s $1.07 million Blue Diamond Stakes at Caulfield Racecourse.
Sent off as the 6-5 favorite in the Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes, Samaready took command halfway through the race over about six furlongs before pulling clear over No Looking Back, an 11-2 shot. The 25-1 outsider Armed for Action finished third in the field of 16.
Falls of Lora looked like Godolphin’s second-string runner going into the UAE Oaks on Thursday at Meydan, but she ran down pacesetting Mary Fildes and won the Group 3, $250,000 race by 2 3/4 lengths.[bc_video_id:244824:]
While Falls of Lora triumphed, the Godolphin favorite, Pimpernel, spun her wheels. Always near the back of the pack, Pimpernel came home fifth, beating only one horse in a poor performance. Trainer Mahmood al Zarooni, who also sent out the winner, said Pimpernel was “too keen” early on.

The Blue Diamond Stakes is one of three Group 1 turf races on the Caulfield program. The Futurity Stakes for older sprinters will not feature Black Caviar. Black Caviar, the Australian mare who has won 19 races in a row in top company, will be rested for several weeks and will not run in the Golden Shaheen in Dubai this year, her trainer, Peter Moody, told the Herald Sun of Australia.
According to Moody, Black Caviar’s main goal this summer will be the Diamond Jubilee Stakes on June 23 at Royal Ascot in England. She will likely prep for the race in April during the Goodwood meeting in England, Moody said, or in a race in early May in Australia.
Pimpernel, a stakes winner in England last fall, is the leading contender in Thursday’s $250,000 United Arab Emirates Oaks at Meydan Racecourse in Dubai.
Owned by Godolphin and trained by Mahmood Al Zarooni, Pimpernel was second in the UAE 1000 Guineas earlier this month behind Gamilati. An Irish-bred by Invincible Spirit, Pimpernel won the totepool Stakes at Newbury, England, last fall. Frankie Dettori has the mount on Thursday.

Testa Matta, the only American-bred in a field of 18, scored an upset win in Sunday’s $2.45 million February Stakes at Tokyo Racecourse, the first Grade 1 race of the year on the Japanese calendar.
A 23-1 shot, Testa Matta rallied from off the pace to win the February Stakes by two lengths, leading through the final furlong. Silk Fortune finished second, three-quarters of a length in front of Wonder Acute. Transcend, the defending champion and race favorite, finished seventh.
Testa Matta finished about one mile in 1:35.40.
Black Caviar extended her unbeaten streak to 19 races in Saturday’s $802,000 Lightning Stakes at Flemington Racecourse in Australia, a race that could have been her last in that country for several months.
The partnership that owns Black Caviar and trainer Peter Moody have a start at Royal Ascot in June as a long-range goal for Black Caviar, who is also being considered for a race in Dubai on the Dubai World Cup program on March 31. Whether she starts again in Australia in coming weeks has yet to be decided.
