Beauty Generation will try to get back on track Sunday at Sha Tin Racecourse at Hong Kong after his 10-race winning streak ended Oct. 20 in the Oriental Watch Sha Tin Trophy Stakes. Beauty Generation conceded a huge amount of weight in that handicap race but gives only five pounds to just six rivals Sunday in the Jockey Club Mile.
Enable was named 2019 Cartier Horse of the Year on Tuesday in London, one of four Cartier winners trained in England by John Gosden.
It was the second time in three years Enable was honored as Europe’s best horse. She won the award as a 3-year-old of 2017 but her shortened 4-year-old campaign in 2018 led to Roaring Lion earning Cartier Horse of the Year.

Lucky Lilac stormed up the rail under Christophe Soumillon to capture the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes, her first Group 1 tally, on Sunday at Kyoto Racecourse in Japan.
Crocosmia, who set the pace from the start and took a long lead into the Kyoto homestretch, held second, 1 1/4 lengths behind Lucky Lilac and a neck in front of race favorite Loves Only You. Centello finished fourth and second choice Chrono Genesis was fifth, but the winner proved much the best thanks to a sparkling turn off foot through the final 2 1/2 furlongs.
