El sensacional final de la Dubai Turf en Meydan

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates – Their first two Breeders’ Cup winners last November at Del Mar. Nice! Four rich stakes winners last month on the Saudi Cup card. Amazing! But how to describe what the Japanese racehorses did on Saturday at Meydan Racecourse in Dubai? Skip the descriptors and just get to the details, might be the best approach.

Australia: Two rescheduled Group 1 stakes go Monday at Newcastle

Two days later than expected, two Group 1 races – the $1.12 million Tancred Stakes and $375,450 Vinery Stakes – will be run Monday in Australia at Newcastle Racecourse.

The races were scheduled for Saturday at Rosehill Gardens Racecourse in Sydney, but excessive rain forced the cancellation of the program after the third of 10 races.

The fields for the Group 1 races have remained largely intact, although the distance of the Vinery Stakes has been reduced from 1 1/4 miles to 1 1/8 miles because of course configurations.

Japan, Yahagi continue dominance, winning first two Thoroughbred races on World Cup card

Dubai Racing Club
Stay Foolish surges back inside heavily favored Manobo to win the Dubai Gold Cup.

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates -- The 2022 Dubai World Cup started off with a bomb as impossible longshot Bathrat Leon led all the way in the Group 2, $1 million Godolphin Mile.

Stay Foolish was a much more logical of the card’s second race, the Group 2, $1 million Gold Cup at two miles, but what almost defies logic is all the international races Japan-based horses have generally been winning over the last five months and, specifically, those trained by Yoshito Yahagi.

Hong Kong: Beauty Fit can handle increase in distance, rise in class at Sha Tin

With any luck, Beauty Fit would be on a two-race winning streak in advance of a start in a one-mile handicap at Sha Tin Racecourse in Hong Kong on Sunday.

Beauty Fit never seemed comfortable when fourth by 1 1/4 lengths in a seven-furlong handicap at Sha Tin on March 12. Beauty Fit raced on the inside throughout, lacked room at one point in the stretch, and finished in tight quarters under jockey Vagner Borges.
