Fengarada was a useful runner for trainer David Brideoake from his debut in July 2020 until June of this year, winning twice and finishing second four times in 11 starts.

For trainer John Leek, Jr., Fengarada has been unbeatable in three starts since July, more than recouping his purchase price of approximately $13,800 from an online auction in June.

The winning streak will be at risk when Fengarada races against a tougher level of handicap runners at 1 1/2 miles at Swan Hill Racecourse on Thursday.

With the lack of experience, Sanstoc will carry a relatively light weight of 121 pounds, less than major rivals such as Brown Thomas at 130 pounds or Good Omens at 125.6.

Sanstoc faces nine rivals at Canterbury in a competitive race.

Earlier this year, the Australian gelding Quatre Zip was transferred from trainer Bjorn Baker to Brett Cavanough after two 11th-place finishes in his first two career starts in 2021.

For Cavanough, Quatre Zip was third and fourth in his first two starts of the year in July before the 4-year-old’s form changed for the better. Quatre Zip won a maiden race at seven furlongs at Tamworth on Aug. 2 in his third start of 2022 and was beaten a nose in a seven-furlong handicap at Scone on Aug. 15.

Red Beryl, who has won 5 of 22 starts, ended a five-race losing streak since April in the July 16 race. Ridden by Matthew Palmer for trainer Jane Clement, Red Beryl closed from fourth of nine to win by a head as the 2-1 favorite.

The days of Mr Brightside winning important stakes in Australia at massive odds has vanished. Mr Brightside will be even-money to win his third consecutive group stakes in the Group 2 Feehan Stakes at a mile at Moonee Valley Racecourse on Friday.

Mr Brightside paid $69.30 in American pools when won the Group 1 Doncaster Handicap against 19 rivals on April 2. The one-mile race was worth $2.24 million and is Mr Brightside’s richest win in 14 starts.

Karaka Lad has had a different start to his career than most horses in Australia.

After winning his first two races in early 2021, Karaka Lad was sent to Hong Kong where he finished 11th of 12 in his only start at Sha Tin Racecourse last November.

Karaka Lad was sent back to Australia after that loss and has his fourth start in a six-furlong handicap at Sale Racecourse on Wednesday evening across American time zones.
