Triple Time posts a 34-1 upset in the Group 1 Queen Anne Stakes, the first and featured race on opening day at Royal Ascot.
No favorites were safe in the three Group 1 races at Royal Ascot in Britain on Tuesday, the first of five days of the prestigious flat racing festival.
Triple Time ($70.10) opened the day with a bold win in the $961,275 Queen Anne Stakes at a mile, followed two races later by a dramatic score by Bradsell ($34) in the $804,200 King’s Stand Stakes at five furlongs.
Form was restored to a large extent when second choice Paddington ($6.20) caught even-money favorite Chaldean in the stretch to win the $769,000 St. James’s Palace Stakes for 3-year-old milers.
