NYRA hires FBI's Venizelos as VP of security

George Venizelos

The New York Racing Association has hired George Venizelos as its new vice president of security. He will begin his new position Jan. 26.

Venizelos, 54, is currently the assistant director in charge of the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s New York division. He oversees all FBI operations in New York City as well as those at La Guardia and John F. Kennedy airports.

Prior to his appointment to the FBI's New York division in October 2012, Venizelos served as special agent in charge of the Philadelphia division.

November handle drops 5.6 percent
