It was a rare wet-track start for the horse, and a rare off race for runner who generally puts up Beyer Speed Figures in the 70s and 80s. Earlier in his career, he was fifth in the Santa Anita Derby won by California Chrome.

Three-year-old filly endured a tough trip on a four-wide chase vs. a solid field of maidens, over a track that was strongly slanted toward the inside. That she managed to get into contention and then hold her ground all through the stretch sugggests that she may not be a maiden for long.

A claiming filly eligible to non-winners of two, she finished seven clear of third in her first race off the claim by Periban. She is a threat right back, and double-tough on a wet track.

The plan is to play a Pick 3 (races 5 through 7) with a single in the middle leg.

Did not run badly in her lone dirt start despite encountering traffic at the top of the stretch.
Should appreciate the turnback to a sprint distance.
