The Grade 1 United Nations is the main event of a 13-race card at Monmouth Park on Saturday afternoon, and I’m interested in looking at an all-stakes pick three sequence, culminating with the U.N.
RACE 9 – EATONTOWN
Belmont Park | Race 7 | Post Time 6:18 p.m. (ET) | Go to the TimeformUS PPs
Our 2-year-old key Bano Solo made it look easy last week and our gimmick Pick Most Mischief made it up to the wire to complete the trifecta. On the other hand, Outlaw, our 3-year-old Pick and everyone’s favorite, ran an unaccountably yuck race, but one for two isn’t a bad batting average.
Race 2:
Andronikos (#4)
The Pace Projector is predicting a situation favoring horses on or near the lead, and he should be in a good spot stalking likely leader No Regrets.
Should appreciate the slight cutback in distance to six furlongs.
Horses have come back out of his last race to run well, including the winner Mo Diddley.

Saturday’s stakes schedule is busy, with potentially a little something for every horseplayer. It’s Queen’s Plate Day at Woodbine, with that $1 million event topping a card that also includes three graded stakes. It’s United Nations Day at Monmouth, with that Grade 1, $300,000 fixture supported by two other graded stakes. It’s Summit of Speed Day at Gulfstream, led by the Grade 2, $250,000 Princess Rooney and the Grade 3, $250,000 Smile Sprint. And there is an appealing renewal of the Grade 2, $250,000 Mother Goose Stakes at Belmont.
Race 6:
Romantic Babe (#1)
Showed promise when winning her turf sprint debut as a 2-year-old.
Was very conservatively ridden in her return race last time, suggesting that she needed the start.
Should be fitter in her second start off the layoff, as the David Donk barn has started winning in recent weeks.

BIZWHACKS
Trainer: Doug O’Neill
Last race: June 21, 3rd
Finish: 2nd by 1 1/4
Beyer: 65
A 2-year-old by first-crop sire Fed Biz, this filly set the pace inside, was pressed throughout, shook off her pace rival, and held second in a fine debut. Tough to beat next out.
