I think you have to start out any analysis of this race by excusing a trio of runners for their performances in the Aug. 5 allowance race at this level. That turf course at Saratoga was legitimately soft, and only a handful of runners in that field seemed to handle the going.

TimeformUS Belmont Park Horses in Focus for Sunday, Sept. 30, 2018

Race 4: I Love Jaxson (#3)
Was compromised by a wide trip over a rail-biased surfaced two back on July 5.
Became too keen and had to wait for running room last time in his first start with blinkers.
Could find himself much closer to the pace this time in a race that lacks early speed.

Race 2: Life in Shambles (#6)

Was unwisely reserved off a moderate early pace last time over a track that was favoring speed.

Still has a right to improve off the claim by Jason Servis.

Should appreciate the return to Belmont Park, where he typically runs his best races.

4-1 on ML

BreezeFigs Quick-Pix for Saturday, September 29, 2018

Another decent week for our Pix and a very good week for BreezeFigs juveniles overall. Take Charge Angel romped at Churchill, Flying Blue just missed catching the winner to complete an exacta at Golden Gate, while Stole E showed some promise before fading at Laurel in a stake won by a BreezeFigs colt, Order and Law (another,Monkeys Uncle won another stake at Laurel on the same day).

Race 1: Beautiful Buzz (#1)

The Pace Projector is predicting a situation favoring runners on or near the lead, and she should be in front early.

Was cooked chasing a fast pace last time in a race that was dominated by closers.

The Belmont main track has been favoring inside runners over the past several days.

9-5 on ML

Peck: How I'm playing the Stronach 5 on Friday, September 28

Laurel, 9th race: TOP HAT TUNE gets the rail again and will be dangerous with even a slight move forward in his 2nd career start, which is certainly plausible, assuming another decent start. UNEQUIVOLCAL is at the lowest level of his short career and he figures tough here with improvement off his first three starts (2).
