Keyed by a single in the Grade 1 Starlet, where Vibrance appears solid after a third in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies, what follows is an analysis of Saturday’s late pick four at Los Alamitos and a $64 ticket.
Race 3: Fight On Lucy (#3)
The winner of her last race registered another victory on Friday, and others that finished behind her have returned to run well.
Was trying to lug in during the stretch last time and still finished well despite losing focus.
Should appreciate the addition of blinkers after racing greenly last time.

Strange race last week in our Pick—the logical choice, Stretford End, looked like a winner until he decided to finish second, leading home two other BreezeFigs horses for the trifecta and superfecta, one of which, Mutineer, we liked as well. Maybe you played it right, maybe you didn’t, but we just sat there with dropped jaws.
Race 2: No Distortion (#7)
Should appreciate the turnback to six furlongs after going too far last time.
Has maintained his form well since the claim by Dermot Magner.
The Pace Projector is predicting that he should be well positioned sitting just off the leader in a situation favoring the front-runners.

NEW YORK – The late-year switch to stakes in warmer climes begins in earnest Saturday at Los Alamitos and Gulfstream.
Los Alamitos has a Grade 1 doubleheader of two important late-season stakes for 2-year-olds – the Los Alamitos CashCall Futurity and the Starlet, which are worth $300,000 each. At Gulfstream, the $300,000 Caribbean Classic tops an 11-race card entirely of stakes events.

Race 1: I’m an Ocala Dude (#6)
Drew a great post position outside of the other speed types.
Has run his best races at Aqueduct.
DRF Formulator Fact: Over the past 5 years, Michelle Nevin is 11 for 22 (50 percent, $3.08 ROI) with horses dropping in claiming price by 50 percent or more in dirt sprints.

The featured event at Del Mar on Saturday afternoon is the Grade 1 Hollywood Derby for 3-year-olds on turf, and Chad Brown sends two live charges west in search of grade one glory. I’m interested in keying them in trifectas with a few other runners, weighting my plays accordingly; here’s the play:
