We're fast and firm to kick off the Sunday Saratoga card, but there is a forecast for rain in the afternoon that might impact some turf racing as well as the featured Amsterdam Stakes.

Made an eye-catching wide move into contention before flattening out in his debut.
Was compromised by a slow pace last time, indicated by blue color-coded pace figures.
D. Wayne Lukas rarely cranks horses up to win first time out, so he figures to improve second time out.

Our split division 2-year-old Pix last week came up with a decent exacta in the first division as Magnanimous got up in the last jump to finish second. But the second division Pick, Merveilleux, not only got off badly but after a half-hearted rally on the turn was basically eased and walked off; hope she’s OK.
Race 2: Assault Breaker (#8)
Is bred to handle turf as a half-brother to 4-time turf winner Wild About Harry.
Ran like a horse that would appreciate added ground in his debut.
