Race 4: Gucci Factor (#6)
Blew the start last time when spotting the field by about six lengths, yet actually ran well after that.
Should appreciate the slight cutback in distance to 1 1/16 miles.
Has the tactical speed to get the jump on the closers in what could be a paceless race.

Like our previous week’s Pix, one “key” worked and the other one didn’t. but we were pleasantly surprised by the $11 payoff that Champit posted at Woodbine after his very nicely time late move brought him home on top. He was one of 17 BreezeFigs maidens that won during the week, several of which kicked off major gimmicks.
I’ll try to build an insurmountable lead after the first few races today at Keeneland, then play with house money the rest of the day. I’ll be placing win bets on each of the first three races, then tying them all together in rolling doubles and pick-3s, the early pick-4 (R2-5), and the pick-5 (displayed here). If one of them happens to get beat, well, just start anew.

Impossible trip from rail-compromised 3-year-old claiming sprinter. Off slowly, he was unable to establish position, had a wide trip, and split the field. Claimed for $16,000 by Miller from Mark Glatt.

Race 1: Knockout Punch (#5)
Is bred to appreciate more ground than he got to work with in his only other turf start.
Actually showed some speed in that turf debut before racing greenly and dropping back.
Low-profile connections will ensure that he’s a square price, but trainer Bob Dunham has sent out live runners at this meet.

There are four Group 1’s Saturday in England on the British Champions Day card at Ascot, and at Fair Hill they’re running the Grade 1 Grand National Steeplechase, but as for the North American graded stakes schedule on the flat Saturday? Nearly crickets. With two weeks to the Breeders’ Cup this is a lull on the stakes calendar and the Grade 2 Raven Run at Keeneland is the only graded flat race anywhere in the United States on Saturday.
Race 1: Curlin Road (#3)
Probably doesn’t need to improve much on his winning effort last time.
With the exception of the marathon experiment two back, he’s been in good form for Rudy Rodriguez.
Has the tactical speed to not be compromised by a potential slow pace.

I suppose Break Curfew (#1) might have a slight edge if she repeats her Prioress effort. She was content to stalk a fast pace that day and stayed on decently in the stretch. She only beat one rival home, but nevertheless earned a 109 TimeformUS Speed Figure, a number that makes her pretty formidable against this group.
Race 6: Daria’s Angel (#7)
Made her return from the layoff going a distance that is too short for her.
Earned some speed figures over the winter that would make her formidable here.
The Pace Projector is predicting that she will be on or near the lead in a situation favoring the front-runners.
