With an explosive move at the eighth pole that left our other gimmick play behind, Reinvestment Risk blew the doors off as our co-Pick at the Spa last week and paid a very generous ten bucks. Watch this colt. He was one of a half-dozen baby BreezeFigs maidens to win last week including solos at Colonial, Del Mar, Gulfstream, Monmouth and Parx. The 3-year-olds had a solid week with eight of them winning, at Golden Gate, Indiana (three), Lone Star, Parx and Saratoga (two). Today’s cards are solid but we see no first-time 3-year-old worth touting.

All eyes on Saratoga this Saturday. Sure, we’d love to see some larger, more competitive fields on the Runhappy Travers card, but it’s also worth keeping in mind that only a couple months ago, there was no racing at all in New York.

Woodbine will offer a mandatory payout on its Jackpot Hi-5 wager on the final race of its Saturday card. The carryover, which has been growing since June 21, currently sits at $268,052. The wager has a 20-cent base.
MARJORIE’S DREAM (#3) and also-eligible CITY FASHION (#13) look key to race 10. Marjorie’s Dream did little in her debut here June 14 but was strong in start No. 2. City Fashion has worked splendidly for her debut for a trainer who has strong debut-win numbers.

SEANOW
Trainer: Antonio Arriaga
Date: Aug. 1, 2nd
Finish: 3rd by 2
Beyer: 76
This was a strong effort for the show, as he was involved in a three-way duel and only weakened late, in fact showing some life even in midstretch. Can wire the right group if able to shake loose in the opening stages.
