Top Pick Stats: 26/87 (-$40.20) Best Bets: 3/7 (-$1.70); Spot Plays: 2/8 (-$1.20) Best Bet: WANNABEABIGSTAR (Race 11) Spot Play: PACINO HANOVER (Race 2) Early Pick-5: 4,5,9/6/1,3/1,7,9/2,7,8   $10.80 Late Pick-5: 2,4/2,6/1,3/2,8/7,8   $6.40 Race 1: HORSES & GELDINGS CLAIMING $8,000 FOR NW $6,760 LAST 4 STARTS. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE. (4) TITANIC HANOVER comes off a solid second at Century Mile and makes his debut for top connections. I’ll give him the nod in his first Mohawk start. (5) HES SWIFT almost paid a visit to the fans at the rail last week when he bore out to about the seven path in the stretch. That cost him the win, and is another question mark on his recent resume. (9) GLORYVIEW IMAGE was forwardly placed last week and took advantage of a perfect trip. If he is forward again, he could be dangerous. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: NW $12,000 LAST 4 STARTS OR NW $27,500 LAST 8 STARTS. AE: OPT. CLM. $70,000. AE: NW $100,000 LIFETIME. (6) PACINO HANOVER should have every chance to take advantage of this short field if he kicks home like usual. He could be a slight overlay. (5) MAJOR PERRY N has produced three sharp races since shipping from down under, and has plenty of gate speed to get himself into a stalking spot again. (3) POWERTRAIN is likely to be an underlay after a clear tightener in his first start back, and especially because he picks up the leading driver. I’ll use him underneath. Race 3: CLAIMING HANDICAP $30,000 TO $40,000. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE & SEX. ENTER IN MULTIPLES OF $1,000. (3) SHANES DREAM showed just as much punch when racing off the claim and has the versatility to get into contention with any trip. (1) PIPEWRENCH CHARLIE got a confidence boosting win last week and could add value to exotics if forwardly placed. (5) JJ XAVIER gives this claiming class another try after two sharp wins as the odds on favorite. J-Mac should have him forwardly placed. Race 4: CLAIMING HANDICAP $18,000 TO $24,000. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE & SEX. ENTER IN MULTIPLES OF $1,000. (7) EXOTIC SAND took advantage of the field coming back to him, and ended up getting the win. His gate speed should put him in contention again. (1) BETTOR ON ICE battled gamely after making a move to the front. That was his best recent race at this level. (9) TELLIT RUSS TELLIT nearly stole the win up the inside, but had to settle for second. He will need to work out a trip from the high draw. Race 5: NW $1,000 LAST 4 OR $2,530 LAST 5 STARTS (W/O $7,500 LAST 7 STARTS N/E). AE: N/A $700 P/S IN 2025 (MIN 10 STARTS). (8) ABOVEMYPAYGRADE has been less than stellar in recent weeks, but gets a key driver change. This race is wide open. (7) NAZARE has produced two decent return qualifiers and has the back class to shine if he is ready to go. (2) TORONTO was better in his latest and could take a step forward tonight. If he can sustain his move, he can get a piece. Race 6: HORSES & GELDINGS CLAIMING $8,000 FOR NW $6,760 LAST 4 STARTS. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE. (4) DAN SPEED has enough speed to get himself into a stalking spot. He didn’t win much last season, but a good trip could change that. (2) RAYS KREDIT spoiled his string of good finishes when making a miscue last week. Look for him to rebound from off the pace. (1) THE COLT was better last week and has a sustained move that can put him in position to hit the board. Race 7: NW $10,750 LAST 4 STARTS OR NW $18,000 LAST 8 STARTS. AE: NW $80,000 LIFETIME. AE: N/A $2,600 P/S IN 2025. (6) VERACRUZ was a sharp winner off the claim. He draws perfectly and should be in prime position to repeat. (2) DEVASTATE was part of a dead heat win last week in just his second start back. He should only continue to improve. (1) WILDTURKEY HANOVER was unleashed last week and drew away to a sharp victory. If he can navigate the rail, he should be able to get at least a piece. Race 8: OPEN. (1) NEW RULES wasn’t in top form last week, but managed to hold second with everything happening behind him. He can rebound and get the job done. I thought (3) USAIN HANOVER was on his way to a win last week, but he ran in and hooked wheels with another rival. That completely ruined his chances, and might have thrown him off his game. (5) SID THE KID was the beneficiary of that scenario, but the line looks way better on paper. I don’t know if he should be the favorite here. Race 9: CLAIMING HANDICAP $8,000 TO $11,000. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE. ENTER IN MULTIPLES OF $1,000. (8) LETS GET PICKLED wasn’t at his best last week, but gets another chance off the claim with the leading driver in the bike. I expect him to be forwardly placed again. (2) ALWAYS B SWEETEST could capitalize if the outside pair show more early speed than they want to. He usually has a solid grinding move in his arsenal. (9) NO PLAN INTENDED has run off a string of wins at Western Fair and has plenty of back class. The concern is the post, and if he can work out a trip from there. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 10: NW $6,500 LAST 4 STARTS OR NW $12,000 LAST 8 STARTS AE: OPT. CLM. $30,000. AE: N/A $1,705 P/S IN 2025-2026. (8) WHITE TIGER has been too sharp to ignore and finds another group that can produce cheap speed. His post will only help his price. (7) CAPTAIN WANIA continues to put himself in spots where he can trip out, but hasn’t quite gotten there as of late. He will pop up with a win sooner rather than later. (5) ROYALTY BEER gets a drop in class after a couple of subpar efforts. If forwardly placed, he could rebound. Race 11: NW $2,650 LAST 4 STARTS OR NW $5000 LAST 8 STARTS. (W/O $10,000 LAST 8 STARTS N/E). AE: N/A $1,450 P/S IN 2025-26. (6) WANNABEABIGSTAR was pace compromised when the middle half of last week’s race went in nearly a minute. He has been nowhere close to having a winning trip as of late. (7) LAMANDIER A could follow the cover of the ML favorite, which would get him into a great stalking spot. He is another who should improve when placed better off the car. (5) SOUTHWIND SAMBUCCA has more than enough gate speed to get to the front without issue. The problem is finishing the job. I can see him holding on for a piece.
