NO ALLOWANCES. (3) MAGGIES TOUCH looked solid in her return qualifier, and flashed speed in the dog days of summer last season. She can step forward and break her maiden. (4) ACROBATIC was another who returned with a strong morning prep. This barn is usually known for sending out freshmen who do good things right away, but this filly could step forward to start her sophomore season. (6) SATU WANIA is getting slightly better with each start around the Mohawk oval. I can see her getting a piece tonight. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: FILLIES & MARES CLAIMING $8,000 FOR NW $6,250 LAST 4 STARTS. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE. (5) STAY PUMPED could use some gate speed tonight which could allow her to trip out behind the ML favorite. That same trip worked for her back in November. (4) D A TEMPTATION is obvious after her second place finish in this class last week. She should be forwardly placed again. (2) KIT KAK got the job done as the big favorite last week, and now ships to the big track. She can get a piece. Race 3: CLAIMING $20,000 FOR NW $37,000 (OS $54,000) LIFETIME. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE. (1) BOOTHILL HUDY wasn’t in the best spot after getting away third last week. He gets a major post switch tonight and looks best in this group on paper. (4) PARTY IT UP has been much better in his last two efforts, and should be able to grind out another strong finish from mid pack. (6) CONNOR B didn’t use enough gate speed last week, and wasn’t able to work out the best trip. I could see him sitting the pocket to the ML favorite and getting a piece. Race 4: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 1 (WINNERS FOR A PURSE OF $9,000 OR LESS 2 RACES) RACE OR $9,000 LIFETIME. NO ALLOWANCES. (1) THE HITMAN HEART has produced two good races since returning to action. He will need a stronger final quarter tonight, but if he is tighter, that should happen. (7) STORMONT FULLALIFE has more in his bag than most of these, and should be able to work into a contending spot with any trip. (3) DULCES SUENOS DEO continues to be a reliable check-getter that is hard to leave off exotic tickets. Race 5: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 2 (FM 3) RACES OR $20,000 (OS $25,000) LIFETIME. (1) JAYPORT MUSCLE UP just broke his maiden in his second start on Lasix. He steps up, but most of these have had many chances. (3) PIER HO EMERALD has shown sharp trot in the stretch in her last two efforts. I can see her passing horses and getting a big piece. (6) FATEFUL hasn’t raced in nearly a month after being a sick scratch two weeks ago. Another off the pace trip is in store. Race 6: CLAIMING $20,000 FOR NW $37,000 (OS $54,000) LIFETIME. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE. (6) NATIONAL TIER might use some gate speed tonight which could put him in a stalking spot. His three efforts since the qualifier haven’t been bad. (2) CHEF held off all challengers again last week when stepping up to this level. He will need to sustain that front end speed. (5) CARSONSBUCKNGO is another logical speed type who could sit just off the leaders and try to pounce late. Race 7: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 3 (FM 4) RACES OR $65,000) LIFETIME. (5) DAFFY HANOVER was unleashed on the front last week and romped. She has plenty of gate speed which she should use to her advantage again. (9) MY WAY was able to sustain his move and worked from well back to get the win. He has been stringing together some nice miles as of late. (7) SUPERSONIC HANOVER stepped up with a sharp dead heat win last week at a big price. He is continuing to race well when put in play. Race 8: FILLIES & MARES, CLAIMING $20,000 FOR NW 2 RACES OR $30,000 (OS $46,500) LIFETIME. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE. AE: N/A $1,710 P/S IN 2025-2026. (8) SIDE EFFECTS was tracked down in the stretch on a night where the front wasn’t holding up as well. I’ll try her again off the claim. (6) CATCHMEGRACEFULLY finally got the best of that rival when racing from off the pace. Cullen has a variety of options with her. (5) ROYALTY GIRL has been better in the new barn since shipping from Ohio. She makes just her third start around a bigger oval. We’ll see how it helps her tonight. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 9: CLAIMING $20,000 FOR NW $60,000 (OS $91,000) LIFETIME. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE. (6) WICKED EXPRESS went wire to wire last week as the odds on favorite. He shows no signs of slowing down from this post. (7) MAKEMEALEGEND flashed decent speed in his qualifier and could surprise for new connections. He is a value player in this spot. (1) JIMMY WHISPERS was a strong second to Wicked Express last week. He should be able to sit just off the leaders and get a similar trip to last week. Race 10: NW $2,500 LAST 4 STARTS OR NW $10,500 LAST 8 STARTS. AE: N/A $1,355 P/S IN 2025-2026. (10) SOUTHWIND MAC left out nicely last week, but was shuffled around the top of the stretch and didn’t have the best opportunity to show what he had from up close. I think McNair tries to blast again, hoping for a cleaner trip. (8) BUTTINSKI was a solid winner last week and is another who should use gate speed to his advantage. (6) ROYAL BELUGA could capitalize off of that early speed and use his closing ability to pass tired horses late. He is a reliable check-getter.
