Teen apprentice Ebow to try Del Mar this summer
The youngest jockey at Del Mar this summer will be 19-year-old apprentice Warren Ebow III, who arrived in California late last month to gear up for the summer meet.
Ebow, who is from Louisiana and rides with a five-pound apprentice allowance, has been riding at Charles Town in West Virginia. Ebow ranked eighth in the Charles Town standings before he relocated. He will be represented in California by veteran agent Joe Griffin.
Ebow arrives at a time when the California jockey colony lacks a prominent apprentice. Ebow has won 42 races from 353 career mounts and has also ridden at Laurel Park, Fair Grounds, Louisiana Downs, Delta Downs, and Evangeline Downs. Ebow scored his first career win on May 1, 2025, at Evangeline.
