Fasig-Tipton’s new July horses of racing age sale got a big boost Wednesday with word that Grade 1 winner Starship Truffles is now in the catalog.
The second and final session of the Japan Racing Horse Association’s select sale ended on Tuesday with double-digit gains in gross receipts and average. The session, comprised entirely of foals of 2013, followed Monday’s yearling session, and once again trade at the top was dominated by progeny of two-time Japanese Horse of the Year and leading sire Deep Impact.
The Japan Horse Racing Association’s select sale kicked off its two-day run Monday with the yearling session, which posted record gross receipts and was headlined by an almost $1.8 million Deep Impact colt out of a Grade 2-winning mare.
The Tattersalls July sale, which runs July 10-12 in Newmarket, England, gets a boost this year from Group 2-placed Address Unknown as well as drafts from such famed operations as Juddmonte, Darley, and Shadwell, among others.
The select yearling auction season kicks off at Fasig-Tipton’s Kentucky headquarters July 15, and this year there’s a bonus. Immediately following the yearling session, Fasig-Tipton will offer a new auction: the summer sale of selected horses of racing age.
Catalogs for the California Thoroughbred Breeders’ Association Northern California yearling sale, scheduled for Aug. 13 at the Alameda County Fairgrounds in Pleasanton, Calif., are now available.
The second and final day of the Arqana summer sale in France, which consisted of a horses in training section including both flat and steeplechase horses, concluded Thursday with sizeable increases in both gross receipts and average, led by nine six-figure horses.
Wednesday’s 2-year-old breeze up portion of the Arqana Deauville summer sale in France brought double-digit increases in both gross receipts and average price compared with the 2012 edition.
The catalog for the inaugural Fasig-Tipton Kentucky summer selected horses of racing age sale is now available online, featuring 69 entries with the potential for more to come.
The catalog for the Fasig-Tipton Saratoga New York-bred yearling sale is now available online, with a larger roster of 299 horses.
