Princess Jade gets class drop back at preferred distance

ETOBICOKE, Ontario – Princess Jade extends to her preferred distance of 1 1/16 miles while getting some class relief in Monday’s first race for non-winners-of-two Ontario-sired allowance types and $40,000 claimers.
Trained by Patrick Dixon for Colebrook Farms, Princess Jade set slow fractions before tiring late to end up second in her final 2025 outing in a nonwinners of two allowance route Nov. 21.
After getting the winter off, Princess Jade ran second to the speedy Veery in a 6 1/2 -furlong Tapeta sprint May 16. Most recently in another first-level allowance/optional-claimer, she finished far back in 10th going 7 1/2 furlongs on the inner turf, a course over which she has not excelled.
Against four other females, Princess Jade contests the 1 1/16-mile distance of her maiden victory on the special Monday card, which is made up mostly of races from Friday’s canceled program. The daughter of Kentucky sire Cairo Prince competes for the $40,000 under Austin Adams.
Regal Affair is going long for the first time with ample stamina in her pedigree. The daughter of Ami’s Holiday beat Ontario-sired and $40,000 maidens in her May 16 season opener and then rallied from far off a fast pace over a live rail for third most recently at this level. David Moran will ride her again for trainer Steve Attard.
Z Train is cheapening up off a belated fourth traveling seven-eighths and has been at her best around two turns. Rafael Hernandez, who was aboard for her maiden victory last fall, will get a leg up from trainer Katerina Vassilieva. They’re a combined 4 for 13 at the meet.
The male version of the aforementioned race lured 10 runners and goes as the sixth on the 10-race card.
Dixon sends out prime contender Decadent Danish, who graduated second-time out on the stretch-out in his final 2-year-old outing Nov. 30. Off a five-month layoff May 2, the son of Danish Dynaformer finished second on the Tapeta before a commendable third on the inner turf in another 1 1/16-mile event at this level. Fraser Aebly takes over on the Colebrook homebred.
Kamasi was the pick of leading jockey Pietro Moran, who rode him in a front-running maiden score with a $40,000 tag when he dropped from maiden special company June 14. John Ross trains the morning line favorite for Ballycroy Bloodstock.
Call Me Bond is nominated to the $1 million King’s Plate. Off a troubled sixth-place finish in his season opener, he’s competing beyond seven-eighths for the first time with a blend of speed and stamina in his pedigree.
Cash the Money is a wild card in his first start with claiming price. The Gun Runner 4-year-old has been campaigned sporadically by trainer Mark Casse and has some positive Tapeta form going long to his credit.
Runner Eyes wasn’t far behind Decadent Danish when fifth after a troubled break on the inner turf June 12 and is adding blinkers.
Mad World was freshened after a pair of double-digit losses against tougher in May and is eligible to wake up with the blinkers removed.
