Favorites ruled the evening in the four divisions of CTHS Sales Stakes on a rainy and dreary Monday evening at Hastings. The night's first $50,000 stakes went to Breezin Brianne under jockey Brian Boodramsingh. Trained by Mel Snow, Breezin Brianne was in control for much of the way, giving bridge-jumpers just a momentary concern before winning comfortably in the end. She covered 6 1/2 furlongs in 1:17.64. Breezin Brianne returned $2.10 across the board and was 3 1/4 lengths clear of runner-up Someday Lady, trained by Cindy Krasner. It was another 7 1/4 lengths back to Why Nots a Wynner, another sent out by Snow. :: Bet the races with a $200 First Deposit Match + FREE All Access PPs! Join DRF Bets. Mount Doom ($2.40) was the only prior winner in the colts and geldings' division of the CTHS Sales Stakes. He, too, rewarded bridge-jumpers and others by delivering a 3 1/2-length win under jockey Antonio Reyes for trainer Steve Henson. Runner-up Chick Command was two lengths clear of Makena's Joy. The winning time for 6 1/2 furlongs was 1:18.65. The other two stakes events carded were each for 3- and 4-year-old sale graduates over 1 1/16 miles. Air Force, who in May ran an extremely fast  6 1/2 furlongs over sloppy ground, figured to relish the off going. The Keith Pedersen trainee led comfortably all the way, checking in for a 1 3/4-length victory in the fillies' division. Runner-up Matsqui finished 1 1/2 lengths to the good of third-place Dreaming d'Oro. Air Force, also ridden by Reyes, covered the distance in 1:44.59. The final $50,000 contest of the night was taken by Lucky Force, who, after some traffic trouble, got clear outside the furlong pole and asserted himself for a 1 1/4-length score under Antonio Perez as the 4-5 choice. Runner-up Shock the House was an outsider trained by Brian O'Connell who was 3 1/4 lengths in front of Diocles, who was saddled by Pat Jarvis. Time over the sloppy going was 1:44.61. :: Want to learn more about handicapping and wagering? Check out DRF's Handicapping 101 and Wagering 101 pages.
